New Blog for LA!
Hey kiddos, sorry I haven't posted in a while but it's summertime and I'm feeling hot and lazy. Just wanted to let you know that in addition to this blog I've got a new blog going for all of you Los Angeleans. It's about all the fun and free things to do in LA. Check it out:

shake it sugaree
I don't really know what country this Glamour spread is from, or who the subject, possibly named Mapuka, is. But I'd be very curious to find out. I like her little gloves and her willingness to mix patterns. Or was that the stylist's idea. Oh who knows.

you ain't goin' nowhere
A few months old, but better than anything I've seen in a while. Trish is captivating in this cracker barrel Elle shoot. And Hilary Walsh is a killer photographer.

can't stop, won't stop
Fave stylist Camille Bidault-Waddington is at it again in the new Purple Magazine. Her combos are so light and delectable that their aptly named for foods and desserts this time around. Is it bad that I want to start painting my eyeliner on like the model in shot number 1? Hope not, cause I don't think I can stop myself.

midnight at the oasis
There is such a thing as harem pant weather and we had it in LA this weekend. I had a busy two days fung sheuing my apartment (I'll give anything a shot) and galavanting about town and a sequined jumper. Because why the hell not.

on the down low
There is a low fi photography thing going on right now that's extending through the lens and into the styling that I'm totally digging right now. Panties and a classic trench with the YSL gate shoes. What's not to love.

hey, it's me
Thanks whowhatwear.com for making me a myspace muse. It should be known that I rarely stand and sneer like that in real life, but it's always fun for a photo!

carte blanc
Debris Blanc not only has a killer blog with this Ali Stephens photo that has sent me on a mad dash for sequined knickers...
But also designs killer clothes like these jeans recently spotlighted on KnightCat. This girl's got hella good taste and I'm guessing a pretty bright future. Check it out Debris Blanc.

i can see you
These photos by Chris Heads from the new Pig Magazine make absolutely no editorial sense to me. Best I can gather is they're a voyeuristic take on facebook photos. But their appeal is unquestionable and what fashion there is is pretty on the dot. I think I'm going to look into this Chris Heads fellow and report back a little more later. In the meantime have a few laughs at how much the below resembles all our online profiles.

fun in french
While I couldn't really stand the "30 Avenue Montainge" spread in the new Paris Vogue I was for once completely into this Terry Richardson shoot. French got fun again in this spread instead of the stuffy all Chanel look that's been a bit to prevalant lately. Enjoy the sequins!

je t'aime...moi non plus
If Christophe Decarnin and Raquel Allegra made sweet love Emma Rea would pop out 9 months later. Ok, kind of gross analogy, but with the edge of the former and the romantic deconstruction of the latter it felt absolutely necessary. These pieces remind me of Jane Birkin in the 60's so quietly and skillfully stealing the scene from her Rock Star boyfriend.

softer, softest
It's not that I'm totally over the rocker look. It's just that I'm mostly over it. However Elle's street scene has some brill Hard Rock meets Soft Layers looks going on right now. It's sunny and 75 degrees in Los Angeles so I'm pleased to know that if Im still rocking the occasional leather legging I can toss a spring dress and some color over it.

back there smiling in the pictures you would take
Yes! The title of this post comes from a third-eye-blind song. And No! I'm not embarrassed by that. Lately, sigh, lately I've been pretty fashion jaded. I'm not finding much inspiration in photo shoots and styling, I thought the Met Gala might change that for me, but alas it did not. So, rather than scour the boards for something passable to post, I decided to go back to 2005 when Steven Meisel executed what is still in my mind the top shoot (at least conceptually) of this millennium. I'm sure you all know it but cheers to it anyhow. It's so well styled, the layout is so original and the girls are pulling their weight in every shot. Also, this was four and a half years ago and both the fashion and celebrity commentary remain right on the nose. God I love good fashion editorials. I love them so much I could cry sometimes. Enjoy!

past perfect future
I've been over indie hipster for a while now and I think I've reached my limit with grunge. So what comes next? I stumbled across this baby Kate Moss shoot from a 1994 Elle. It would seem that chronologically we have mod-ish mini dresses and t-strap shoes coming our way. I can't wait, I'm dying to clean up a little.

Whowhatwear.com's latest editorial is hilariously on the nose. If fashion is cyclical there's no reason television shouldn't be as well. The casting is priceless!

Swimsuit editorials are normally boring as hell, but Daria kicking a bunch of Rourke-looking-dude's asses. I'd buy that bikini. Kudos to you Paris Vogue, Kudos to you.

what a beautiful face i have found in this place
Art and models haven't been this literally combined since Lucien Freud painted a preggers Kate Moss. Identical twin brothers Taiwo and Kehinde Adeniji recently ordered up some beauties, Alys, Imogen, Thea and Lydia below, from london agencies and rendered them in these ethereal vintage palettes. Gorgeous I think, reminiscent of Freud, Schiele and a really good Laura Mercier ad.

two, one, four!
Topshop's 214 Magazine showcased their clothes using some beautiful methods, including these shots by photographer Mel Bles. We'll be visiting more of his work later on. For now just enjoy the dreamy fashion.
